LindaAllenDance was born in 1984 when founder Linda Allen was asked to teach one student, once a week because she couldn't get to a local dance class. With a stereo, a pile of scarves, and a heart full of dreams, LindaAllenDance quickly grew.
Word spread about the school, the community where kids and adults could explore their dance skills, and before long LindaAllenDance had grown. The spirit of those early lessons, tailored to suit the individual student, still lives in every class today.π
LindaAllenDance has blossomed into a dynamic dance school with a big heart.π
Along the way, we've introduced performance teams, hosted workshops, been on trips and collaborated with local schools at the annual Charity Gala. Every term is a celebration! π We've also had many shows and recitals and celebrated many occasions. There have been a few lollies to cool us down too! π§
Through all the growth, weβve stayed committed to one thing: building confident, expressive, and joyful people through dance.
π΄Confidence Through Creativity
We believe that every child has something unique to express. Our classes are designed to nurture self-belief through movement, music, and imagination.
π΄Progress Over Perfection
We celebrate effort, growth, and individual journeys. Whether itβs learning to skip or achieving a distinction, every step forward is a win.
π΄Belonging for Every Body
LindaAllenDance is a space where all dancers feel safe, seen, and supportedβregardless of background, ability, or experience level.
π΄Passion with Purpose
We dance with heart and intention. From studio to stage, we encourage our dancers to move with joy, respect, and responsibility.
Linda's mission is to create a space where every child can feel seen, celebrated and confident through dance. With over 40 years of experience as a professional teacher, including in the primary school sector, Linda brings a combination of technical knowledge and child-centred teaching. Her classes blend structure with imagination, and her mentorship style has helped dozens of students grow into expressive, empowered dancers and people. Linda teaches classes across all age groups, leads the choreography for recitals and shows and can often be found cheering the loudest from the wings on performance day. π
Laura started her dance journey with LindaAllenDance at the age of 3. She quickly found her passion for dance and completed all her exams with excellent results. Quite an inspiration to the other students. Laura followed her dreams and gained a place at Roehampton University where she gained a degree in Contemporary dance as well as working with Akram Khan.
Laura returned to LindaAllenDance in 2021 and completed her teaching qualification with a 100% pass! Her knowledge of dance is such an asset to the school. Meticulous in her teaching and such a kind and gentle manner all help her students to thrive and achieve their goals. Laura's thoughtful, tailored choreography fits perfectly to each student. Her organisation and stage management skills are invaluable. She is calm and reassuring to all ensuring everyone feels confidently prepared therefore ensuring they enjoy their class and performing experiences.
We are very lucky to have Laura at LindaAllenDance .
"Amelia started off doing tap then moved onto tap and ballet and has now joined the performers group. I was sceptical at first as she had never done anything like it but Linda reassured Amelia that she would be there with her every step of the way and she was! Amelia has gained so much confidence since attending and comes out of class absolutely gleaming. She's always so excited to tell me the moves she's learnt and the achievements she has made."
